At Strathallan Retirement Village, we help to provide days of fun that are full and rich. Every resident is encouraged to enjoy the in-house activities on offer, and to take part in our many excursions and shopping trips around Timaru.
Strathallan has an extensive activities programme with a wide range of options to cater for the needs of all our residents.
Friends and family are welcome to visit Strathallan for activities and special events, or to join our regular ‘happy hour’ for drinks and nibbles. You may also choose to make use of the café which is the social epicentre of Strathallan village life and where you can enjoy the tasteful décor and wonderful food that’s prepared on site.
Our residents lead an active and involved lifestyle in the knowledge that many of the tasks around the home are taken care of for them, with all exterior maintenance issues of the home plus gardens, lawns, washing of exterior windows, fire and medical alarms, rates and insurance and the use of the village centres all included in their low weekly fees, this allows them to enjoy their money for doing the things they enjoy and not worry about ongoing maintenance issues.
Our Village Manager, Debbie McMaster is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the village. Debbie is a Registered Nurse with over 40 years’ nursing experience. During this time she has completed post graduate education related to her area of expertise. Debbie’s commitment is to always respect families’ cultural and spiritual values ensuring that they are able to be involved with daily life at Strathallan.
Our Village Co-ordinator is responsible for the marketing of our Villas and Apartments and co-ordinates care delivery within the village. Regular activities and support for our village residents is a team effort and enjoyed by all staff, residents and their families alike.
The continued involvement of family and friends in our resident’s daily life, is encouraged and supported. They are welcome to participate in all activities and to attend any special events. Visiting is available at any time especially at happy hour when family are warmly welcomed. At other times many choose to use our relaxing café for a catch up.
