You’ll notice that we don’t refer to our properties as retirement villages. Instead we call them communities, because they’re designed to see further than the front gate and be part of New Zealand’s daily story. We want our residents to enjoy the rich tapestry of life, each in their own way.
Our newest communities include facilities that can be enjoyed by members of the public alongside our residents. We want our residents to stay actively engaged with the broader community, including children, young people and older locals who are living on their own.
Another innovative extension of our mission to transform the ageing experience within the broader community is the Arvida Good Friends, Living Well Centre. A safe and friendly community hub where older people can exercise, socialise, and enjoy a variety of events and activities. The centre features a specialised gym, swimming pool, and a vibrant café, creating an inclusive space for older individuals to nurture their wellbeing and engage in a fulfilling lifestyle.

We promise clarity about fees, transfers, ORAs and all the other details related to your relationship with us.

We are confident that you will be very happy with your new home. But if you do decide within 90 days of moving in that it’s simply not for you, then we will refund your money in full. We call this our 90-day-money-back guarantee.*

If you need to transfer from independent to assisted living due to a change in your personal needs, there will be no additional capital cost.
Should you choose to move to a higher value home within an Arvida community, you’ll need to pay the extra capital difference. There’s a one-off 1.5% admin fee to pay and then you’re away.
If you wish to transfer to a care suite, you can move with or without additional capital cost (depending on your choice of unit) and no administration fee is payable.
At Arvida, it’s capped at 30% of the entry payment for your home, and if you transfer to another home, we only ever charge the DMF on
the higher value home (excludes care suite transfers).
Plus, with our repayment protection you will be paid interest after 6 months if your home hasn’t sold within this time.
