Arvida was the first New Zealand organisation to bring Cycling without Age trishaw bikes to New Zealand and our Park Lane community was the first locations\ to introduce the fun of trishaw rides. Now we have 13 trishaws at communities around the country.For residents who love the fun and freedom of cycling, trishaw rides are transformative.

The motive power for our trishaws comes from volunteer pilots going for a trishaw ride is entirely free for our residents, thanks to the mad-keen cyclists who donate their time and energy as part of a worldwide movement - Cycling without Age.

The power of community is the inspiration for Arvida’s wellness centres. Instead of putting walls between retirement villages and their immediate neighbourhood, Arvida is opening doors and rolling out the welcome mat.

The Arvida Good Friends living well community centre at Arvida’s Park Lane in Christchurch features multiple wellbeing-related facilities that are shared with the public. It includes Natter café that focuses on healthy as well as delicious meals, a hair and beauty salon, a fitness gym, a heated spa and pool for exercise classes and recreational swimming, event spaces that can be used by community groups, and premises for a range of wellness service providers.

The benefits of shared zero-emission electric vehicles are considerable. Residents don’t have a car depreciating each year, there are no running and maintenance costs to worry about, cleaning and grooming is all taken care of, and the cars are super-easy to drive. What's more, it feels good to know that the car you're driving isn't adding to climate change.

We currently have free-to-use electric vehicle fleets at St Albans and Park Lane in Christchurch, where less requirement for parking has given us more scope for extra community facilities.
