Help name Havelock North’s newest retirement community

Arvida is turning to Havelock North locals for inspiration, inviting people to suggest a name for its planned retirement community at 28 Thompson Road, Havelock North.

The 10-hectare development is planned to include 187 independent Villas, 40 Care Suites and a Clubhouse. Anticipation is building for the new community and, subject to approvals, earthworks are expected to begin in 2027. The development will complement the established Arvida Mary Doyle retirement community, which recently celebrated 30 years in the Havelock North area.

General Manager Sales and Marketing Tristan Saunders says finding the right name is an important part of creating a retirement community with a strong connection to Havelock North.

“We’re looking for something with character and a genuine connection to the area,” he says. “There will be plenty of good ideas out there, and we can’t wait to bring a brand-new Arvida retirement community for over-65s to the region.”

Names could take inspiration from the local landscape, the specific site, history and character of Havelock North, or come from somewhere completely unexpected.

As an added incentive to get the creative juices flowing, everyone who submits a suggestion will go into the draw to win a $500 Prezzy card. Entries close on Thursday, 12 November 2026.
