A unique community with something for everyone
The Whai Mauri Ora community will be developed in stages over several years. Once fully completed, it will include approximately 180 villas, a care centre with apartments and care suites, and exceptional shared facilities for entertainment, fitness and socialising. The specialised centre for aged care will reflect our Attitude of Living Well philosophy, which focuses on resident-led care that helps each resident to live their best life. The community’s design will maximise the feeling of open space and offer wonderful views towards Mt Pirongia and Mt Kakepuku.
Every Arvida community reflects the people who live in it, so no two are the same. For example, our Waimea Plains community near Nelson has an e-bike group and craft beer brewing club, as a salute to local interests. And, our new community in Kerikeri, Te Puna Waiora, has a share boat and an area of native forest that is looked after by residents. This resident-led approach will also apply at Whai Mauri Ora, as we discover what the locals like doing. By becoming one of the first residents you can directly influence how the community develops.
The site for Whai Mauri Ora was blessed by Ngāti Apakura elders before work commenced. The elders placed a Mauri stone during a ceremony that is reserved only for buildings of significance. The name Whai Mauri Ora, gifted to us by Ngāti Apakura, means ‘in pursuit of wellbeing’. It ties perfectly to our Attitude of Living Well philosophy, which focuses on every aspect of good health and wellbeing.
Arvida. Life your way.
