Copper Crest transforms to include care

Previously focused on independent living, Arvida’s Copper Crest community has added two extra dimensions of over-65 living to its offering – Living Well apartments for assisted living and care suites for full-time care.

On 19 March, National MP Simon Bridges and Arvida CEO Bill McDonald officially opened the new $35 million care centre that houses the care suites and apartments. The ceremony was shared with 100 residents, their families and members of the local community.

For Tauranga people looking for future-proofed accommodation arrangements, it means the tempting simplicity of a single address change. Nick Page, community manager at Copper Crest, explains the two options:

“Living Well apartments are ergonomically designed to make day-to-day living easier for people who need just a little help. They have lovely views, full kitchens and balconies, plus residents get a daily buffet breakfast and weekly house clean.

“Care suites are rooms and studios designed for people who need a higher level of assistance. We can offer 24/7 rest home, hospital level or dementia care in our care suites, depending on individual needs.”

A special feature of the care suite lifestyle at Copper Crest is how residents are grouped into households, to create a homely atmosphere and nurture relationships.

“The wellness team members looking after each household are consistent, so residents get to see the same friendly faces every day. Our household approach also encourages stronger friendships between residents.”
